Marlo Representatives Meet in St. Louis

At Marlo, our nationwide network of Independent Manufacturer’s Representatives (IMRs) is the lifeblood of our commercial and industrial coil and air handling unit (AHU) business. They are in the trenches every day, meeting with facilities personnel, contractors, engineers and specifiers to provide HVAC solutions using customized Marlo products.

We recently held an IMR meeting in downtown St. Louis. The event was attended by at least one representative from the majority of our IMR companies.

Opening Reception

The reception provided a great opportunity for the IMRs to share success stories, as well as discuss the challenges they each face in their own territories. A number of members of the Marlo sales and engineering teams were also on hand to participate in these valuable informal discussions. We feel everyone really benefitted from, their time together.

Marlo Plant Tour

We started off with a discussion about some of the new developments at Marlo – including a review of our many recent investments in new equipment and automation, as well as an update on our office renovation project. Then we headed to Marlo for a tour of our manufacturing facility.

Everyone got to see our entire production process, including our sheet metal department, fabrication area, coil assembly, air handling unit manufacturing cell and more. The highlight for most of the attendees was seeing our new state-of-the-art automated equipment in action, including laser cutters/punches, press brakes, panel benders and panel saws. These significant investments demonstrate Marlo’s commitment to continue to drive efficiency, resulting in lower costs and reduced lead times.

After the tour, one of our experienced brazers gave a brazing demonstration. The completed joints were then cut open and evaluated, utilizing the same standards that Marlo personnel are measured against to achieve brazing certification.

Selection Software Updates

Tommy Laster, our Commercial Sales Manager, gave presentations on our two selection software programs: MarloMetrics for heating and cooling coils, and AHU Metrics for our MarloAir air handling units. These important applications allow our IMRs to configure and quote Marlo products in the field, while assuring that the customer’s needs are met.

MarloMetrics

The big news about MarloMetrics is that we have moved from a desktop version to a web-based application, meaning it is now “always updated” and accessible from any computer or mobile device – with no more software downloads. One important benefit is that pricing is updated in real time, reflecting the latest fluctuations in component and raw material costs, providing accurate quotes despite rapidly changing pricing environments.

This easy-to-use tool allows Marlo representatives to quickly customize, quote and order any of our coil products. This includes hot water and chilled water coils, steam coils, industrial process heating and cooling coils, AHRI certified coils, Stratomizer integral face and bypass coils (IFB coils), and more. The software also offers instant submittal package generation, including performance specifications and general arrangement drawings.

AHU Metrics

Like MarloMetics, our custom designed AHU Metrics configurator software allows Marlo IMRs to quickly size, configure, and quote MarloAIR air handling units, with no need to contact the factory. The user-friendly, step-by-step configurator offers instant proposal and submittal package generation, direct-to-factory order transmission and more.

The software naturally speeds order processing and shortens lead times, but also helps to assure that every MarloAIR AHU is configured to meet the exact requirements of its specific application. This includes choosing from a range of fans, energy recovery wheels, filters, variable frequency drives (VFDs), fused and non-fused disconnects, and many other components to offer a customized solution.
