A longstanding tradition has finally been reinstated at Marlo Heat Transfer Solutions. After a very long delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our summertime barbecues are back!
To reward our team members for their hard work, management periodically provides a barbecue lunch for our entire staff during warm weather months. A regular occurrence prior to 2020, these fun, team-building events unfortunately had to postponed for more than two years as a safety measure during the pandemic.
So, when we were finally able to have our first barbecue since 2019 on May 20th, it was an extra special event for everyone. Plus, after a very rainy spring, we had a beautiful day for the event – temperatures in the 70s and not a cloud in the sky!
While everyone loves a free lunch, it’s the opportunity to get to know each other better that is really appreciated by our team. As we are constantly working hard to meet our customers’ delivery needs for heating and cooling coils, air handling units (AHUs) and more, there is little time during the workday to chat with fellow employees – especially those outside your immediate department or production area.
But the barbecues bring us all together and give us time to build relationships that ultimately help us work together better as a team. These events may seem like a small gesture, but they go a long way toward creating a team-focused environment that makes Marlo a great place to work!
